Port del Saler Pier
Port del Saler Pier
Start your visit from the Port del Saler pier, a historic pier where tradition and nature go hand in hand. This is the starting point for a comfortable and quiet boat trip through canals, rice fields, and the large expanse of water of the lake.
Just a stone's throw from Valencia, the Puerto del Saler keeps the pulse of Albufera culture beating: floodgates, irrigation motors, and fishing gear that we continue to interpret on each outing.
If you are looking for a charming spot that is easy to get to, the Saler pier is your ideal gateway to discover the heart of the park by electric boat, at a leisurely pace and with local guides.
Itinerary 1: Rice fields + Albufera Lake + Floodgates
We set sail along the Saler Canal between rice fields. You will learn how water is managed, the stages of cultivation, and why irrigation channels set the pace of the landscape.
When the sluice gate opens, sweeping views of the lake appear. We sail silently and approach the Gola del Pujol to understand the role of its floodgates in the balance between lake and sea.
It is a perfect route for those who want to learn about hydraulic history, enjoy open views, and photograph reflections at sunset.
Itinerary 2: Rice fields + Albufera lagoon + floodgates + wildlife reserve
In addition to the above, we expanded our route to reserve areas where the reed beds protect herons, purple swamphens, cormorants, and ducks. We identified species using visual aids and stopped the engines to observe without disturbing them.
We circle Mata del Fang (a nature reserve) and read the landscape: winds, currents, riverside vegetation, and bird roosts. A more naturalistic approach for those who want to go one step further.

Discover Port del Saler, the gateway to the heart of l'Albufera
The Port del Saler pier is not just a departure point: it is context, memory, and living landscape. Here you can understand why this wetland has been key to Valencia for centuries.
Experience Albufera
Breathe in the silence of the electric motor, listen to the wind in the reeds, and watch how the light changes on the water. The experience is leisurely, photogenic, and very comfortable for all ages. Between canals, the guide connects each view with a different story: fishing, rice, golas, dunes, and conservation.
The adventure begins
From Port del Saler, we first enter a protected channel and, in a matter of minutes, we emerge into the immensity of the lake. The contrast between narrow spaces and the open horizon gives rhythm to the trip. If you wish, we can schedule the trip for the best daylight conditions for your photos.
